Prof. Dr Diamant Thaci graduated in 1989 with a medical degree from the University of Pristina, Pristina, Kosovo. He remained in Pristina until 1992, specializing in dermatology and venereology, before taking up a post in the Department of Dermatology and Venerology at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. He became a board certified dermatologist and venereologist in 1995 and, from 1997, Dr Thaci has held the roles of Senior Consulting Specialist in Dermatology, Director of Clinical Research, and Head of Photodermatology Division at the university. He became Associate Professor of Dermatology, Venerology and Allergology at the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, and in 2013 was appointed Professor and Head of the Comprehensive Center for Inflammation Medicine, University of Luebeck, Luebeck, Germany. Dr Thaci's research experience covers immunology and all stages of clinical drug development. Between 2002 and 2013 he was involved in more than 200 investigator?driven psoriasis trials, and was lead investigator on several national and international multicenter trials. In addition to his clinical commitments, Dr Thaci lectures on scoring systems in dermatology and is involved in the training of study personnel and publishing articles and book chapters in dermatology. Dr Thaci has been a recipient of the Theodor?Stern Foundation Award for excellent clinical research. He is an active member of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) and the International Psoriasis Council.
