Catherine Smith, MD

Catherine is Professor of Dermatology and Therapeutics and Consultant Dermatologist at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, Kings College London and Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital.  She co-directs the Skin Therapy Research Unit, and is also a lead clinician in national specialised services for adults with severe psoriasis. Her clinical and research interests focus on inflammatory skin disease and translational medicine, extending from biomarker discovery through to interventional studies (phase II-IV), and involve major national and international collaboration.  She also has a major interest in guideline development and implementation in the UK and Europe, with the aim of bringing research findings into clinical practice.

Bruce E. Strober, MD, PhD, is a Clinical Professor at Yale University, Department of Dermatology. He received his medical and graduate degrees from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, NY, and completed his postgraduate training in dermatology at New York University in New York, NY. Dr. Strober is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a past member of the medical board of the National Psoriasis Foundation.  He is the Co-Scientific Director of the Corrona Psoriasis Registry and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. Dr. Strober has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters. He has also spoken extensively to both physician and patient audiences in the field of dermatology.

Lone Skov, MD, PhD

Lone Skov is a Consultant Dermatologist in the Department of Dermato-Allergology, Gentofte Hospital Faculty of Health Sciences, at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.  She received her medical degree from the University of Copenhagen's medical school and completed her PhD thesis at the same university. Her specialty is dermatovenereology. In addition to her current positions, her distinguished career includes serving as daily leader of the outpatient clinic at Gentofte Hospital's Department of Dermatology and Venereology. She led the effort to organize theoretical education in dermatology in Denmark and has served as head of the hospital's Department of Dermatology and Venereology.  She has served as a teacher and lecturer in dermatology and venereology, published 88 papers in peer-reviewed journals and three book chapters and has served as a reviewer for a number of scientific and medical journals.

Prim. Prof. Dr. Robert Strohal is Head of the Department of Dermatology and Venerology at the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Feldkirch, Austria. In addition to serving as an external expert for various research and funding programmes associated with the European Commission, he is Board delegate of the Austrian Chamber of Physicians at the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), Division Dermatology-Venereology in Brussels, Board member of the European Wound Healing Society (EWMA), Council Member of the International Psoriasis Council, President of the Pan-German-speaking Roof Organisation for Wound Healing and Board member of the Austrian Society of Dermatology and Venereology. He has received eight national and international scientific awards.

Tiago Torres, MD, PhD

Tiago Torres is Professor of Dermatology at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of Porto. He received his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, completed a residency program in Dermatology and Venereology at Centro Hospitalar do Porto and finished his PhD thesis in 2014 studying the role of psoriasis-associated systemic inflammation in atherosclerosis. Currently, he is the Head of the Psoriasis Unit and Clinical Trials Unit of the Department of Dermatology of Centro Hospitalar do Porto. Tiago Torres has been involved in the development of national guidelines for the treatment of psoriasis, has won the “Juvenal Esteves” Prize from the Portuguese Society of Dermatology and Venereology with research projects in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis in 2011, 2013, 2017 and 2018 and is the present President of the Portuguese Group of Psoriasis. He serves as Associate Editor of Acta Médica Portuguesa, Journal of the Portuguese Society of Dermatology and Venereology and Drugs in Context and belongs to the editorial board of Drugs and the Foundation René Touraine’s Book “Therapeutics In Dermatology” and has been the editor of the Portuguese book “Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis”. His main research topics in dermatology are immunodermatology, immunology and immunopharmacology of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
