Lars Iversen, MD, DMSc Aarhus University Hospital Aarhus, Denmark IPC Board Member
Professor Iversen, an IPC councilor since 2009, and since 2017 board member of the IPC. He is professor in dermatology at the University of Aarhus, Denmark, where he also teaches dermato-venereology. He received his clinical education and obtained a doctoral degree from the same university. Professor Iversen's main research interests are psoriasis and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Most of his research activities are related to signal transduction and immunology. Professor Iversen has served as a guest researcher and has been a speaker at international conferences in Asia, Europe and the United States. He is the author or co-author of 240 articles and book chapters and the holder of two patents. He has served as a section editor for Acta Dermato-Venereologica and on the editorial board of Experimental Dermatology. His writings have appeared in several scientific journals including Nature Immunology, Nature Communications, PNAS, EMBO Journal and Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. In 2019 professor Iversen was the founder of the National Center for Autoimmune Diseases at Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark. He served as president of the Danish Dermatological Society and a is previous board member of the Nordic Dermatological Association. Furthermore, he a member of ESDR, EADV and AAD.

Dr. Fiocchi obtained his medical degree from the Santa Casa Faculty of Medicine in São Paulo, Brazil, followed by training in internal medicine, immunology and gastroenterology in São Paulo, Baltimore, and Cleveland. Currently Dr. Fiocchi is Professor of Molecular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Cleveland, and a staff member of the Department of Inflammation & Immunity in the Lerner Research Institute of the Cleveland Clinic. His lifelong research interest is the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), where he has made numerous contributions. These included the investigation of immune events occurring in the bowel of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis patients, as well as animal models of IBD. The studies included the identification of mechanisms of mucosal T-cell death and survival, investigation of tolerance of mucosal T-cells for the autologous enteric flora, characterization of the interactions between mucosal T-cells and endothelial and stromal cells, and the study of immune-driven angiogenesis in intestinal inflammation. His most recent area of interest is the use of systems biology and network medicine to understand IBD pathogenesis in a more comprehensive fashion. Dr. Fiocchi has received numerous recognitions and awards as well as serving as Associate Editor or Editorial Board member of several journals.

Catherine is Professor of Dermatology and Therapeutics and Consultant Dermatologist at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, Kings College London and Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital. She co-directs the Skin Therapy Research Unit, and is also a lead clinician in national specialised services for adults with severe psoriasis. Her clinical and research interests focus on inflammatory skin disease and translational medicine, extending from biomarker discovery through to interventional studies (phase II-IV), and involve major national and international collaboration. She also has a major interest in guideline development and implementation in the UK and Europe, with the aim of bringing research findings into clinical practice.
During the 2nd webinar, our panel of experts will continue the theme of personalized medicine, focusing on what we can learn from registries, big data, and artificial intelligence.

Joel M. Gelfand MD MSCE is a James J. Leyden Professor of Dermatology and Epidemiology (with tenure) at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. He is also Vice Chair of Clinical Research, Medical Director of the Dermatology Clinical Studies Unit, and Director of the Psoriasis and Phototherapy Treatment Center. He is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in psoriasis, clinical epidemiology, drug safety, and clinical trials. Dr. Gelfand is the author of over 260 scientific publications, editorials, reviews, and textbook chapters (cited over 18,000 times, H index 60) which appear in journals such as JAMA, BMJ, European Heart Journal, Annals of Rheumatic Disease, JAMA Dermatology, JAAD, and the JID. He is the recipient of the American Skin Association’s Psoriasis Achievement Award, PENN’s New Investigator Marjorie Bowman Award and the Lady Barbara Colyton’s Award for Autoimmune research, Penn’s Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology’s epidemiology teaching award, NPF’s inaugural award for scientific achievement, and is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation. He has given over 10 named lectureships and keynote addresses including the Society for Investigative Dermatology’s Eugene M. Farber lecture and the American Academy of Dermatology’s Marion B. Sulzberger lecture. He has received grant support from NIH, FDA, PCORI, the Dermatology Foundation, the American Skin Association, the National Psoriasis Foundation, and numerous pharmaceutical companies to support his independent research program. The overarching goal of his research and clinical practice is to improve psoriasis patient outcomes in the skin and joints, while lowering the risk of diabetes, CV disease and mortality.

Kevin D. Cooper, M.D., is Chair of the Department of Dermatology at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. He is the Director of the department's Skin Diseases Research Center, and Professor of Oncology and Pathology at the Case School of Medicine. Dr. Cooper has been a staff physician at the Ann Arbor (Michigan) and Cleveland VA Medical Centers for 20 years. He attended college and medical school at the University of Florida and completed his residency training and a fellowship at the Oregon Health Sciences University, Oregon. He then became a senior fellow at the Dermatology Branch of the National Cancer Institute, one of the National Institutes of Health, and progressed from Assistant Professor to Professor of Dermatology at the University of Michigan prior to his move to Cleveland. Dr. Cooper is the past president of the Society for Investigative Dermatology (2004-2005), the world's leading organization for scientific communication and advancement in cutaneous biology and dermatology.

Alexander Navarini, MD, PhD University Hospital of Basel Basel, Switzerland
Alexander Navarini is chairman of the Department of Dermatology, University Hospital of Basel since 2018. He was elected professor of immunodermatology, deputy head of the outpatient clinic and head of the patch testing laboratory at the University of Zurich, as well as leading the clinics for hand eczema and work-related dermatology, psoriasis and acne. Prof. Alexander Navarini graduated from medical school at the University of Basel and Université Marie-Curie in Paris, France in 2002. Between 2003 and 2006 he completed a postgraduate course in Experimental Medicine and Biology and MD Ph.D. studies at the University of Zurich. His research focuses on next generation genetics and gene hunting, as well as visual detection of skin diseases. He has published over 130 peer-reviewed articles and several bookchapters. Alexander Navarini is currently Principal Investigator of the European Rare and Severe Psoriasis Network (ERASPEN) for harmonizing phenotype descriptions, as well as of several clinical trials and the Swiss psoriasis registry.

Professor Nick J Reynolds received his dermatology training in Bristol, Ann Arbor, Michigan USA and Newcastle upon Tyne. He was appointed to the Chair of Dermatology, Newcastle University and Honorary Consultant Dermatologist, Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne in 2001. Nick leads a dynamic interdisciplinary research group in Newcastle and his clinical and research interests are focused on inflammatory skin disease (psoriasis and atopic eczema). He was previously Chair of the Research and Steering Committees, British Association of Dermatologists Biologics Registry (BADBIR), Chair of UK TREND (Translational Research Network in Dermatology) and President of the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR). In 2019, Nick was selected as a NIHR Senior Investigator and is currently Secretary General and Vice President of the European Dermatology Forum (EDF).

Professor Bachelez is professor at the Department of Dermatology of the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris Saint-Louis University Hospital in Paris, France. Since 2004, Professor Bachelez has been full professor of clinical dermatology at the Université Paris-Diderot/Université de Paris, where he received his Ph.D. in Immunology in 1999. Professor Bachelez’s clinical and research activities focus on inflammatory skin diseases, mainly psoriasis and psoriasis-related diseases, but also hidradenitis suppurativa, lichen planus among others. He is conducting his basic and translational research at the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM U1163), in the Laboratory of Genetics of Skin Diseases at the Imagine Institute for Human Genetic Diseases in Necker Hospital, Paris. His areas of scientific research include immunogenetics and molecular mechanisms of the aforementioned immune-mediated and inflammatory skin diseases. Professor Bachelez has received several scientific awards, including the Robert Degos award. He is a member of several national and international scientific societies, including the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and the European Dermatology Forum (EDF). He is the past president of the French society for Dermatological Research and of the Group for Research on Psoriasis of the French Society for Dermatology. Internationally, he is a board member of the International Psoriasis Council and is currently serving as President of the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR). Professor Bachelez has published more than 270 manuscripts in peer-reviews journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Clinical Investigation, the Lancet, and Arthritis and Rheumatism as leading author.

Liv Eidsmo, MD, PhD LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center Copenhagen, Denmark
Liv Eidsmo is Professor of Translational Skin Immunology and was recruited as Executive Director of the LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center at the University of Copenhagen in 2021. Professor Eidsmo’s research focuses on how T cells residing in the skin drive local recurrence of diseases such as psoriasis and vitiligo.
Professor Eidsmo graduated medical school in 1999 and defended her PhD in Immunobiology at Karolinska Institutet in 2006. Following a postdoc in Frank Carbone's laboratory at Melbourne University in Australia from 2007-09, she returned to Sweden to start up her own lab at the Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM) at Karolinska Institutet in parallel to clinical training in dermatology at Karolinska University Hospital. Professor Eidsmo has a wide international network and is regularly invited as a speaker at international conferences. She has received multiple academic honors and awards, including the Ellis and Ivar Janzon's Prize, The Swedish Society of Medicine (2017), Marcus and Marianne Wallenberg Clinical Research Fellow (2016) and the Ragnar Söderberg Fellowship (2014).

Prof Emery trained at Cambridge, Guy’s and Brompton. Since 1995 he has been Versus Arthritis UK (formerly ARC) Professor of Rheumatology in Leeds, Director of the Leeds NIHR Biomedical Research Centre 2009-present. Prof Emery was President of EULAR 2009-2011. He was inaugural chair of FOREUM Executive. He is an ACR Master. He has served on the editorial boards of all the major rheumatology journals. He has been an NIHR Senior Investigator since 2008. In 2020 he received the Meritorious Service Award from EULAR and became Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales in 2021.
Professor Emery’s research interests centre around the immunopathogenesis and immunotherapy of rheumatoid arthritis, SpA, psoriatic disease and connective tissue diseases. He has a special interest in the factors leading to persistent inflammation. He is currently focusing on the prevention of autoimmune diseases with national programmes identifying patients in the pre-clinical phase. He has published >1200 peer-reviewed articles in this area and has an h index of >140.

Luigi Naldi, MD Centro Studi GISED Bergamo, Italy
Luigi Naldi took a diploma in Classical Studies and a Degree in Industrial Design at Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan before moving to Medicine. He graduated as a medical doctor at the University of Pavia in 1981. From 1984 to 1986 he was a junior investigator at the Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacology of the Mario Negri Institute in Milan. In 1988 he moved to the clinical arena (Dermatology) at the Department of Dermatology of the University of Milan, Bergamo General Hospital. He qualified as a full professor of Dermatology in 2013. In 2017, he started a new clinical position as Director of the Department of Dermatology, at the General Hospital of Vicenza. He always considered the clinical setting as the natural laboratory for clinical research. Since 1986 he is coordinating a collaborative research group in Italy, the Italian Group for Epidemiologic Research in Dermatology (GISED). He is a co-founder of the European Dermatoepidemiology Network (EDEN). In 2003, he established a research center at the Bergamo General Hospital, Centro Studi GISED, with the aim of promoting integrated clinical research programs in Dermatology.

Claudia de la Cruz, MD Clinica Dermacross Santiago, Chile IPC Secretary
Claudia De la Cruz, MD, is a dermatologist in Santiago, Chile. She earned her degree at Universidad De Chile and was an Assistant Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile between 2005 and 2013. Dr. de la Cruz is the Founder and Director of Clínica Dermacross since 2010 in Santiago. She has served on the Board of Directors of the International Psoriasis Council since 2017 and is a regional coordinator for Latin America for the Global Psoriasis Atlas project. Her focus has been in working for psoriasis in her country through the Chilean Society of Dermatology, at the beginning of her career, and then for Latin America, where she has lead the IPC Latin American working group together with Ricardo Romiti from Brazil.She is International Scientific Advisory Board member for Pso Protect. In her role as regional coordinator for Latin America for the Global Psoriasis Atlas, she has focused on collecting information on the incidence of psoriasis in Latin America, helping to build a net of experts through the region. She has helped raise awareness and improve access to treatment in the region, evaluating the different barriers to access in Latin America and other underserved areas in the world. She has also worked in education at the IPC, first on the International Fellowship program, that helps train new leaders in the psoriasis field, and currently as chair of the Masterclass Steering Committee.
Jo Lambert, MD, PhD Ghent University Hospital Ghent, Belgium
Jo Lambert is a senior full professor in dermatology and venereology, and academic chair of the Department of Dermatology at Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium. She is past president of the Royal Belgian Society of Dermatology and Venereology, member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium, board member of the Fondation René Touraine (FRT) Scientific Committee, past president of the Skin Inflammation and Psoriasis International Network of the FRT and chair of the EADV Task Force Psoriasis. Jo specialises in the fields of psoriasis and human skin pigmentation. Her research interests lie in the improvement of care in immune-mediated inflammatory skin disorders through an evidence-based integrated approach.

Luis Puig is Director of the Department of Dermatology, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (HSCSP) and Professor of Dermatology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) Medical School, Barcelona, Spain. In the last 20 years Dr Puig has focused on clinical research in the treatment of psoriasis with biological agents, an area in which he is a key opinion leader both nationally and internationally, having taught at numerous national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars. The results of his research have been published in numerous articles (h-index = 59; i10 index = 310) and book chapters. He has participated in numerous clinical trials on psoriasis, in most cases acting as principal investigator. Dr Puig is member of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, founding member of several of its working groups, and past coordinator of the Spanish Psoriasis Group. He is also an aggregate member of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology and its GEAPSO Group for Research in Psoriatic Arthritis, and of several international societies, including the EADV, AAD, CILAD, ESDR, ASDP, ISDP, and GRAPPA. Dr. Satveer Mahil is a Consultant Dermatologist at St John's Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, and adjunct Senior Lecturer at King's College London, UK. She graduated from the University of Cambridge (Gonville and Caius College), UK and completed clinical dermatology training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology. She completed a Medical Research Council-funded Ph.D., which involved using genetic information to gain novel insights into the mechanistic basis of different forms of psoriasis and define new therapeutic targets. She has a major clinical and research interest in psoriasis. She is co-director of the PsoProtect and PsoProtectMe global registries. As director of St John’s DermAcademy, she also leads the development and delivery of dermatology educational resources for healthcare professionals.

Ulrich Mrowietz is a Professor of Dermatology and the founder of the Psoriasis Center in the Department of Dermatology at the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Kiel, Germany. His main research areas in psoriasis include management strategies, drug development, and basic research. The Psoriasis Center provides a large clinical trial unit and is part of the Comprehensive Center for Inflammation Medicine at the Kiel Campus. Professor Mrowietz is the author or co-author of more than 375 peer-reviewed publications listed in the Medline database and numerous other publications in the field. His h-Index is 65. In addition, he is the author of chapters in multiple psoriasis textbooks, including Braun-Falco’s Dermatology and Venerology. From 2004 to 2019, Professor Mrowietz was Editor-in-Chief of Archives of Dermatological Research. He is a former member of the Executive Board of the German Dermatological Society, a councilor of the International Psoriasis Council, a member of the scientific advisory board of the German Psoriasis Association, a member of the Clusters of Excellence “Inflammation at Interfaces” and “Precision Medicine in Chronic Inflammation,” and of numerous dermatological societies. Professor Mrowietz was President of the 6th World Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Conference in June/July 2021 in Stockholm, Sweden.

Ricardo Romiti, MD, Ph.D., is responsible for the Psoriasis unit at the Department of Dermatology of the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and works as a Clinical Professor of Dermatology also at the University of São Paulo. Having gained his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, where he also completed his residency in the Department of Dermatology. Professor Romiti is currently a Board member of the International Psoriasis Council, a member of GRAPPA and the Latin American Society of Psoriasis (SOLAPSO), and Editor of the Brazilian Consensus of Psoriasis of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology. Besides, he has authored or co-authored numerous papers published in national and international dermatology journals and is the Editor of five books with a focus on psoriasis.
