Peter van de Kerkhof, MD, PhD, Chief Medical Officer

Professor Peter van de Kerkhof served as head of the department Dermatology at the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre, The Netherlands, since 1992 and is currently a Professor Emeritus there. He graduated in medicine from the Catholic University of Nijmegen in 1978 and trained in Dermatology at the St. Radboud Hospital, Nijmegen. In 1983 and in 1990 he completed his theses in the faculty of medicine and faculty of sciences resp. Between 1980 and 1984 he completed his training as a dermatologist. Research interests of Professor van de Kerkhof are psoriasis, disorders of keratinization, inflammation and clinical pharmacology of the skin. He has been president of major European Dermatological societies such as European Society of Dermatological Research and European Dermatology Forum. He is member of the editorial board of several international dermatological journals. He is an author or coauthor of more than 600 peer reviewed dermatological journals. He joined the IPC Staff as Chief Medical Officer in July 2018.

Kazumitsu Sugiura, MD, PhD

Kazumitsu Sugiura is a professor and chairman in the Department of Dermatology at Fujita Health University School of Medicine. He graduated from Nagoya University and received a medical degree in 1994. Dr. Sugiura trained for two years in molecular biology in the Department of Anatomy III at Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine. In 1999, he received his Ph.D. from the Department of Dermatology at Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine. He studied autoimmunity at the Autoimmune Disease Center of The Scripps Research Institute as a research fellow for three years, then moved on to become an assistant professor in the Department of Biochemistry II at Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine. In 2002, Dr. Sugiura returned to Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine in the Department of Dermatology. In 2016, he began his current position at Fujita Health University. His research interests include genodermatoses, inflammatory keratinization diseases, and autoimmune diseases.

Nick Reynolds, BSc, MBBS, MD, FRCP

Professor Nick J Reynolds received his dermatology training in Bristol, Ann Arbor, Michigan USA and Newcastle upon Tyne. He was appointed Senior Lecturer, Newcastle University and Consultant Dermatologist, Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne in 1995 until he was appointed to the Chair of Dermatology in 2001. He leads a dynamic research department in Newcastle comprising basic scientists and clinicians. His current clinical and research interests are focussed on inflammatory skin disease (psoriasis and atopic eczema). He is currently Chair of the Research subcommittee, British Association of Dermatologists Biologics Registry (BADBIR), Chair of UK TREND (Translational Research Network in Dermatology) and President of the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR).
