Dr. Su Mar Lwin is a Burmese-born dermatology resident at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and a Visiting Lecturer at King’s College London. Su joined St John’s as a junior clinical fellow in 2013 and subsequently completed a PhD in Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine at King’s College London. Her research focuses on developing and clinical applications of advanced (stem cell and gene) and repurposed therapies for rare and common skin diseases. Su’s other passion is global health dermatology; Su is a co-founder of the Burma Skincare Initiative (BSI), a United Kingdom-registered charity. In line with the BSI’s mission, through local and international healthcare partnerships, Su is dedicated to promoting excellence in skincare for the people of her home country by establishing diverse but synergistic initiatives focusing on education, training, and research to improve clinical services in Myanmar and beyond.
